Morning Glory - 03/19/2019 - Celebrating St. Joseph

On the Feast of St. Joseph, the team shared that St. Joseph always responded to God’s will, even though he never spoke a word in the Bible. He lived his life as a true man of God, and at his death, was surrounded by our Holy Mother and her Son, Jesus, making St. Joseph the patron of a happy death. Fittingly, Gloria continued the Lenten season by examining a meditation on death, taken from St. Francis de Sales’ Introduction to the Devout Life, and how it is not an end but rather a beginning of our eternal life. True feminists were highlighted by taking a look at the four female doctors of the church and their contributions to the faith. Come find out more by listening to Morning Glory – It’s Catholic from Coast to Coast!

Morning Glory - 03/18/2019 - Headed to Heaven …. And Texas!

A great start to the week begins with Morning Glory, and this morning the Monsignor Charles Pope headed a discussion on heaven and what so many people’s perceptions are. Yet, where is God in these ideas of what heaven will be like? How can we acquire the love of heaven, and prepare for eternity with God? The team has some answers, and so do our listeners via email! And on their way to heaven via Texas – the Dominican Sisters! With space running out in their Ann Arbor, Michigan, convent, the Dominican sisters are headed west to Texas! Deacon Harold shares the wonderful news of BOOMING numbers of young women choosing the religious life. Finally, Gloria continues her Lenten series from Introduction to the Devout Life with a meditation on sin.

Morning Glory - 03/15/2019 - Evils of the Flesh

Morning Glory discussed the terror attacks against Mosques in NZ and the evil of hatred against our neighbors. Fittingly, we also discussed the Scriptural meaning of “the Flesh” and how it leads us to rebellion and evil. We then considered meditation as a means to reviling any least thing to do with sin. We also had a frank discussion on why there are so few African American priests and what could be done about it. Of course, we covered the Gospel and listener comments.

Morning Glory - 03/14/2019 - Life Matters

While news of late term abortion has been in the headlines, the team relays some "wins" for life, including California's moratorium on the death penalty and the successful surgery of a child removed from the womb and then returned to it. Faith in art is explored, and the Lenten series on Introduction to the Devout Life continues. All this, and more on Morning Glory!

Morning Glory - 03/13/2019 - Spring Cleaning

Morning Glory talks about the common thread between the massive cheating scandal in elite college admissions and the DOJ ordering the FBI not to consider charging Clinton in her poor handling of classified info. We also discuss if Lent really is 40 days long, a lost Caravaggio worth $171 million, and the means for purging oneself of affection for sin by meditating on our creation. Of course we discuss the Gospel and respond to listener feedback.
