In the first hour, host Tim Mosser continued our Education Tour by talking with the bisonCatholics at St. Paul's Newman Center in Fargo. Throughout the hour he spoke with Newman Center Director Fr. James Cheney, the Diocese of Fargo's Bishop Folda, Student Missionary Tricia Zikmund, North Dakota State University President Dean Bresciani, and Newman Center supporters Tim and Nancy Kelly.

In Bible Study, Tim finished Second Timothy. He looked at how Paul encourages Timothy to follow his example of teaching sound doctrine and bearing his share of hardships for the Gospel. Paul calls Timothy to compete well for the faith, finish the race, and keep the faith. A crown of righteousness awaits all who do this.

Mike Schmitz, FOCUS Missionary Ben Berning, and student Jenna Orr talked about the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, their vision for the Newman, and Alpha, a tool for outreach.

During this hour, host Tim Mosser discussed St. Paul's personal letter to Timothy (First Timothy), encouraging him to lead the Church at Ephesus along the true path. St. Paul provides advice that we in the Church (bishops, priests, deacons, laity) can use along our path to holiness.

In the second hour, Coach spoke with Liz Hoefferle and Dan Johnson about the upcoming Diocesan Assembly in the Diocese of Duluth. During Bible Study, Tim covered the last part of First Corinthians, looking at the liturgy and how to celebrate it correctly and the resurrection. He discussed how the truths of the Eucharist and the resurrection form the foundation of our faith.

Fr. Ed Vanorny is a priest in the Diocese of Rapid City. In this "Meet a Priest" segment, he shared his vocation story and provided advice for those discerning the priesthood or religious life.

In the second hour, Coach spoke with Alice Hoffert and Fr. Gerard Braun about the St. Michael's School Centennial Celebration. Then during Bible Study, Tim moved into the second part of First Corinthians, discussing the abuses in the Corinth community in regards to marriage, sexual impurity, and idols and looking at how living a truly Christian life raises us above this and focuses us on Christ.

In the first hour, host Tim Mosser visited with Gregg Grinsteinner, High School Athletic Director and Boys Basketball Coach at Dickinson Trinity. Gregg shared how his coaching has grown over the past 35 years, how being an Athletic Director provides another opportunity to be able to mentor others, and how Trinity's Philosophy of Athletics shapes the school and the athletes in both faith and sport.

Deacon Carlson shared the story of his vocational journey, including discerning marriage and then discerning the diaconate as a married man, the joys of the diaconate, and how he serves his parish and community.

In the second hour, Fr. James Gross spoke with Sharon Freeman about the upcoming 15th Annual Marian Eucharistic Conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He then discussed Luke 13:22-30, the Gospel for this past Sunday, looking at the question asked of Jesus: "Will only a few people be saved?". He also shared some of the experiences he had in Poland at World Youth Day.

Guest host Fr. James Gross visited with Fr. Kyle Metzger from Sts. Anne and Joachim Church in the Diocese of Fargo about The Family. The two discussed the essential role of the father in faith, the danger of crowding family time, celebrating the sacraments together, and praying as a family.

Catholic Coach Hr. 2 August 8 Bible Study

In the second hour, Tim began discussing the Book of Ezekiel, examining what to do when we feel we are in exile and how God always calls us back to Him. Ezekiel, a prophet who lived in the time of the Babylonian Exile, remained faithful to God and encouraged the people to do so as well. Tim talked about how we can learn many lessons from Ezekiel, including how to have faith and hope that God will restore us in the proper way and time.

In the first hour, host Tim Mosser spoke with Kristin Sheehan, Program Director of Play Like a Champion Today from University of Notre Dame. Tim and Kristin talked about building a positive sports culture for young people, what the Play Like a Champion Today initiative does, its Catholic identity, and the program's upcoming visit to Rapid City Catholic Schools.
